Information Literacy Toolkit

The Information Literacy Toolkit is a collection of resources that faculty and instructors can use to help plan or implement assignments in classes. These resources can help you scaffold research skills into your classes.

Assignment Description

Ask each student to find and read background information on a topic. Students use the information they discover and evaluate to inform an in-class discussion of the topic. Students serve as the class “expert” on their topic during the class discussion. Discussion can encompass evaluation of sources and the subject matter.

  • Source analysis/evaluation is a good assignment to partner with this one.
