Encyclopedias provide additional background information about your historical event. Plus, Ms. Jellum will allow (1) encyclopedia as an required academic source for your research paper. 

The library has the Gale E-books database you can use to find basic information about your event. 

1) Click on the following link: https://mgccc.libguides.com/az.php?a=g

2) Select Gale ebooks

3) Enter your historical event in the search box. Hit enter. 

The database will provide several digital encyclopedias to search through; usually the first couple of results are your best bet to start reading first. Just click on the blue title and review the article. Take notes, but also look for the three causes and the three effects.
