Websites for Historical Topics

These websites are a great starting point to find historical events through the century.

Scroll through the websites to find a desired event. Click on the event to read basic background information about the event. Remember to jot down important facts about the event (i.e. Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How). 

1) History.Com

Click on 'Topics' at the top of the page. Select 'Continue' and scroll through the list of topics. Once you have found your chosen event, click on the image or photograph or the event title and review the background information about the event. 

2) History Central

Look across the gray banner and hover your mouse over your subject (i.e. World, US, Elections, Wars, Special, People, etc.). For example, you may choose the US; hover your mouse over that subject and a drop down menu will appear. Select your era or scroll down and choose a time period. WARNING: This site has a lot of pop-ups. Scroll through the list of events. Click on a blue title and read the background information about the event. 

Remember to jot down any basic information about the event (Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How).
