Course Guide Examples

This guide includes various examples of course specific guides.

Step 1: Pick a Topic

The first step in giving a persuasive speech is picking a really great topic. If your topic isn't assigned to you, use these resources to explore some current controversial issues. They cover everything from abolishing the penny, blood diamonds, and confederate statues to youth sports and zoos!

Step 2: Research Deep Dive

Once you have a topic, you'll want to dig deeper using one or more of the library databases. We have dozens of them, so narrow them down by selecting the subject that best fits with your topic. We'll make some suggestions!

Step 3: Write

Preparing an argument often requires going back to step 2 more than once to fill in some gaps or gain knowledge you didn't get the first time around. This is normal, so be prepared to do that. Once you are ready to build your argument, use the resources available to all MGCCC students to craft a solid one.
