For your research assignment, Mr. Pittman has approved websites as a source; however, he has only indicated websites ending in .edu, .gov, .org., net., .com(trusted site only) as approved sites.
So how can you narrow your Google results to only list those domain names? Follow the instructions below:
1) Go to Google
2) Enter your city/state (ex: Miami, Florida).
3) Narrow your search results to only show .gov, .edu, .net or.org websites:
4) Enter the following in Google search: Miami, Florida site:.gov
or
Miami, Florida site:.edu (This will most likely pull up colleges or universities in the city)
or
Miami, Florida site:.net
5) Notice there is a colon and a period after the word site followed with the domain name.
And that is it!
You can also enter your city/state and the words mayor’s office OR tourism office in Google's search bar:
Example: Miami, Florida mayor’s office
Miami, Florida tourism office
Using the search words 'mayor's office' or 'tourism office' usually generates trusted .com websites.
